ANGELO BROCATO
There is no more Sicilian atmosphere in New Orleans than in this shop. Grandfather Angelo Brocato emigrated from Palermo in 1905 with recipe and machine for famous Italian ice cream. Now the grandchildren have taken over and continue the business. More than thirty traditional fragrances of Italian ice and pastries are served there: spumoni (lemon, pistachio and tutti tutti), cassata (spumoni accompanied by vanilla cake and fruit), torroncino (almond and cinnamon) and tortoni biscuit (flavoured gelée frozen cream with almonds and vanilla cake). And also the traditional amaretto, bacci (noisette-chocolate) and chestnut cream, cannoli pastries. You can enjoy the delicacies on-site at the few tables in the shop.
