ARLINGTON HISTORIC HOME
This house was built on the edge of Bayou Tèche in 1834 by Euphrazie Carlin, in the Greek Renaissance style, in cypress wood. Fortunately, she was spared during the war of Secession. The façade is elegant, with its four fine white columns surmounted by an Corinthian pole and its wrought iron balcony. Paintings by Remington and Salvador Dali decorate it. Notice the crystal and bronze chandeliers. The residence was restored and refurnished in 1965 by Senator Carl Bauer, who also redessiner the magnolias gardens.
