LIGHTHOUSE OF THE ISLET OF PETITE-TERRE
The archipelago's oldest lighthouse, classified as a historic monument, was built in 1850 and offers a magnificent view from its 35 m height.
Built in 1840 and 35 m high, it is the oldest lighthouse in the archipelago and is classified as a historical monument. It was used as a landmark for boats. This lighthouse is the continuation of the mission entrusted in the 18th century by the King of France to the Thionville family, from Désirade, who had obtained the concession of Petite-Terre, and which consisted of lighting large bonfires at night to warn sailors of the island's presence. The view from the top of the lighthouse is breathtaking.
