DOG-HEADED STAIRCASE
The Tête-Chien staircase is a lava flow that came down from the mountain, then solidified and flowed into the ocean.
The Dog-headed Staircase is the name given to a lava flow that came down from the mountain and then solidified and flowed into the ocean (near the village of Sineku). This gigantic black shape snaking in the white foam seems to be making its way from the top of a rock to the sea. It's quite impressive!
Another version evokes the Amerindian legend, it would be at this place that a boa constrictor would have come out of the ocean to climb the steps, join the land and create the first Kalinago village.
