Chat Perché is a real institution in Haute-Loire for children's literature. Anne Helman is the passionate person behind this independent bookshop which has moved to rue Chaussade. Driven by the desire to offer young readers both classic (the tales of our childhood) and contemporary works, Anne has been sharing her love of reading since 1998. In fact, it was Marcel Aymé who inspired Anne to name her bookshop after his Contes du chat perché. While wandering among the shelves, it is difficult to choose a book (often small editions). All of them are worth a look, whether they are novels for teenagers or illustrated books for the little ones. The precious advice of Anne and her team will help you to make up your mind. Watch out for the various activities offered regularly (game workshops, reading sessions, meetings with authors, etc.), which are free and open to all.
