Since 1986, the town of Le Puy has been dressed in its 16th century clothes: costumes, music and shows punctuate the festival for 4 days.
Since 1986, the organisers of the Fêtes du Roi de l'Oiseau (Bird King's Festivities) have endeavoured to give the town of Le Puy back its 16th century colours. Each year, for four days, the town and its inhabitants undergo a metamorphosis, creating a real living décor: while the last Ponots swap their everyday clothes for a period costume, people in the many camps are already busy "feasting" around a traditional banquet. Shows and entertainment punctuate the days.
