THE CHAPEL OF RELICS
Chapel with very beautiful paintings of the liberal arts which is located in Puy-en-Velay.
Between the cathedral and the cloister, the building known as the "Mâchicoulis", a 12th century fortified building, houses the Chapel of the Relics. A beautiful painting of the liberal arts where music, rhetoric, logic and grammar are represented by women sitting in flamboyant gothic style stalls. They each hold their attributes: a small organ for music, a file for rhetoric, a lizard and a scorpion for logic and two children listening to its rules for grammar. The altarpiece of 1642 contains the relics.
