Many places are named after Puy-en-Velay: a college, a street… Here, a statue to its effigy, flowered all around. Lafayette est né à quelques kilomètres du Puy, le pèlerin s'interroge sur sa présence. Il est dommage qu'aucune inscription indique l'objet de cette reconnaissance, si ce n'est que son implication dans la guerre d'indépendance des Etats-Unis.
