Place du Plot, the lung of the city, whose center is equipped with the fountain known as the Bidoire in Puy-en-Velay.
On Saturday morning, market day, this square is the lungs of the city. In the centre, there is the fountain known as the Bidoire. It is the oldest fountain in the city, built in 1246. The eagles and dolphins that decorate it probably date from the 15th century. If there is no better place to have a drink on a terrace in Le Puy, the square is also the starting point of the via Podiensis towards Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. From the square, the rue Saint-Gilles leads to the starting point of the Régordane route for pilgrims going to Saint-Gilles-du-Gard.
