TĒVOCIS VAŅA (UNCLE VANYA)
For an introduction to Russian cuisine, come and sit down at "Oncle Vanya". Vintage and nostalgic atmosphere in this beautiful restaurant, one of the best in the old town. Although it's open from lunchtime, it's in the evening, after dark, that it's at its most charming. By the light of old lamps, you can enjoy a good solyanka, salmon and cod dumplings, caviar pancakes, a hearty beef Stroganoff and finish off with blinis with blackberries from the Karelian marshes. From the Caucasus to the Arctic Ocean, this is a true culinary expedition.
