From Sigulda, you can see the tall red-brick tower of the Livonian castle of Turaida, dating from 1215, from which there is a superb view. A museum in the 15th-century attic explains the history of the Livonian state from the 14th to the 16th century. Folk song festivals are held here in summer. In the park surrounding the fortress, you can familiarize yourself with local traditions: pirts (sauna), blacksmith's workshop, very interesting fish cellars (the refrigerator of medieval times), a house of barons and servants.

Magnifique parc et beau points de vue. Une promenade tout à fait charmante !
The national park around is magnificent. It is very delightful: castles, forest, ruins, caves, relief, small cable car (super nice!). With not flunking!
