Romantic, flowery ambience in this café celebrating the love affairs of Sigismund II Augustus (last king of Poland from the Lithuanian Jagellon dynasty) and Barbara Radziwiłł, a wealthy local noblewoman. Their love affair caused a scandal because their relationship was said to have begun while both were married. Widowed early, they secretly married, but Barbara died after being recognized as Queen of Poland. The story has inspired many artists... and this café.
