SAINT-CASIMIR'S CHURCH
Built by the Jesuits in the early 17th century, this is the oldest Baroque church in Vilnius. You can't miss it, with its pretty salmon-colored façade. It wouldn't look out of place in Rome, since its style is inspired by the Gesù church. Dedicated to Casimir Jagellon, a prince of Poland and Lithuania who had just been canonized, it was burnt down and remodeled several times.
Under the Tsars, it was converted into an Orthodox church, then by the Soviets into a warehouse, and later into the Museum of Atheism. Since 1988, it has been returned to Catholic worship.
