The town hall took on its present classical appearance at the end of the 18th century. In the 20th century, it housed the Museum of Fine Arts. Today it is an official building that hosts various cultural events: concerts, shows, festivals, etc. Its pediment is decorated with the coat of arms of the city of Vilnius: St. Christopher carrying the infant Jesus on his shoulders. The surrounding area is very lively and bustling with bars, restaurants and shops.
