In 1822, the great poet Adam Mickiewicz (in Lithuanian: Adomo Mickevičiaus Muziejus) lived in this apartment. Lithuanians claim he was Lithuanian. The Poles, for their part, retort that he wrote in Polish and referred in his writings to Lithuania as a province of Poland, and finally the Belorussians claim that he was born in Belorussia and wrote in Belorussian too. We won't really know, but this museum gives you the opportunity to find out more.
