This bastion is the remains of the "barbican", a fortification system that Vilnius was equipped with in the 17th century. Construction began in 1503, covering a perimeter of 2.5 km. The museum contains a collection of military equipment, weapons and ancient armour. The site offers a beautiful view of the old town. Today, the only things that remain are the legends about a basilisk that lived in the bastion and an underground tunnel connecting the castles of Vilnius and Trakai.

belle balade
Agréable montée jusqu'au bastion des anciens remparts d'où on a une belle vue sur la ville côté rivière. La visite ne présente pas un grand intérêt.
