Opened in 1856, this museum deals with the history of the Baltic, through collections of utensils, tools and jewelry from archaeological digs. From prehistoric times to the Middle Ages, over 4,000 items are on display, tracing the habits and customs of the Baltic tribes. The museum has accumulated, preserved and exhibited the historical heritage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Numerous temporary exhibitions are organized, as well as cultural history evenings.
