NEW ARSENAL
The museum is dedicated to the daily life of Lithuanians from the 13th century to the Second World War. The first rooms are devoted to painting. The most interesting exhibits are upstairs, with reconstructions of traditional housing over the ages and linen costumes. There are also wooden pagan crosses and religious paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries. Near the museum stands the statue of Mindaugas, the first Grand Duke of all Lithuania and the first and only Lithuanian king. The statue's base is surrounded by symbols from the ancient Baltic calendar.
