NATIONAL ETHNOGRAPHIC OPEN-AIR MUSEUM (LIETUVOS LIAUDIES BUITIES MUZIEJUS RUMŠIŠKĖS)
The Ethnographic Museum, created in 1966, brings together the various traditional architecture of the four major regions of the country, on 175 hectares, from the th century until the first half of the twentieth century. The entire visit represents 6,5 km of walking and a minimum of 3 hours. From the entrance, an exhibition of traditional sculptures allows to discover the evolution of techniques from the th century to the present. Once the bridge has passed, several itineraries are available to you. The following can be done in the opposite direction.
First, Dzūkija, the poorest agricultural region, is made up of small farms. Then, that of Aukštaitija, in which many farms are grouped around one street. We will not miss the th century wooden church. The smallest section, devoted to the Suvalkija region, is quickly spotted by its houses with red roof roofs. In the largest section of the park, Žemaitija, the windmill, the windmill, a sawmill and many farms. Finally, in the reconstituted village, we admire the work of some craftsmen (pottery, wool, amber); You can also relax, enjoy a drink or stroll.
The visit is long if you want to go to every "region". Provide water. You can simply choose a "region" or a village to explore if the scale of the visit frightens you a little. It is recommended that you go to the beautiful days.
