Thomas Mann spent three summers in Nida, between 1930 and 1932, in this pretty cottage typical of the region overlooking the lagoon. He and his wife had been struck by the beauty of the place and had wanted to build a vacation home here. Today, the house houses an exhibition on the life and work of the Nobel Prize winner. Along the way, you'll notice the neo-Gothic Protestant church and its cemetery dotted with krikštai, wooden funerary monuments typical of the region.
