The museum tells the story of the "Baltic gold". It is located in the heart of the botanical park - well worth a stroll - in the former neo-Renaissance palace of the Tiškevičius family (Tyszkiewicz in Polish). It contains thousands of pieces - around 30,000 of them, including some rare ones such as one containing a vertebrate, and the world's third-largest block of amber known as the "sun stone", weighing in at 3.524 kg. It has already been stolen twice. A must-see!
