The palace was built in 1908 and owned by Chaïm Frenkel, a local industrialist. Between 1920 and 1940, it housed a Jewish school. Then, in Soviet times, it became a military hospital. Today, one room is devoted to the region's Jewish history. The rest of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of Little Lithuania and the city since the 19th century. The building itself is well worth a visit. The pretty park is open to visitors.
