Visaginas is a town in northeastern Lithuania, located in the Utena apskritis. It has a population of around 28,269. The town is known for its proximity to Lake Drūkšiai, the country's largest lake. The plant was equipped with two RBMK-1500 nuclear reactors, similar to those at Chernobyl. Before its closure, the plant produced 70% of the country's electricity. Today, Visaginas is a city on the move, with numerous clubs and sports teams, such as Interas Visaginas, FK Visaginas, FK Evikonas Visaginas and MFK Visaginas. Visitors can also enjoy the natural beauty of the area, with Lake Drūkšiai nearby.
