UNIVERSITY OF ADDIS ABABA
A vast campus housing the rich library of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies and a fascinating Museum of Ethnology.
The vast campus of Addis Ababa University is housed in the former Genet Le'ul Palace. Built shortly before the Italian invasion, the palace was later donated by the emperor to mark the creation of the university. Surrounded by a beautiful park, the solemnly decorated building houses the rich library of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies, as well as the fascinating Museum of Ethnology. There's also an interesting Museum of Natural History, with a large number of stuffed animals, and the Museum of Modern Art, which organizes exhibitions.
