The Currach Irish Pub is a little corner of Ireland on this remote island in the Hauraki Gulf. Part bar, part restaurant, it's a popular hangout on the Great Barrier Island, where there aren't many places to go. Within the walls of this 120-year-old villa, classic pub fare and burgers by Chef Sam Dana are served, and live music is not uncommon. Every Thursday is a special "Open Mic Night", so why not give it a try?
