WHANGAREI ART MUSEUM
The Whangarei Art Museum is the public gallery for the entire Whangarei district and houses a collection of contemporary and contemporary artworks, photographs and works of art from all periods that showcase the cultural richness of the Northland region. Charles F. Goldie's Portrait of a Maori Woman (1905) is one of the main attractions and temporary exhibitions are also held throughout the year for eight weeks. The museum is managed by the Whangarei Art Trust which also oversees the Undertwasser Art Center and the Wairau Maori Art Gallery.
