THE DUKE OF MARLBOROUGH
The Duke of Marlborough likes to claim its numbers loud and clear: 38 rooms, 100 wines and 30 beers are what it has to offer, along with an excellent New Zealand menu. As good a hotel as it is a restaurant, it's a well-known establishment that claims the oldest bar license in the country. Its history dates back to 1827, when it served its first drinks, even though it didn't start operating legally until 1840. The rooms offer various standards but are all very satisfactory. Very good address in front of the sea, both to eat and to stay.
