Lovers of trekking on horseback can call on this small equestrian center, which offers hour-and-a-half outings, with the option of an additional meal (a barbecue). There are also options for children to ride on the backs of ponies. Located just over ten minutes' drive south of the town of Whitianga, the Wairakau Equestrian Center has some fifteen equine boarders (horses, ponies). All levels are welcome!
