The most important jazz festival in New Zealand, the Tauranga Jazz Festival boasts to be "the longest running Jazz Festival" in the Southern Hemisphere. That is, not necessarily the oldest, but the longest running.

It takes place during Easter week and gathers more than 45,000 people under the autumn sun of the Bay of Plenty.
