A natural museum in the open air with nearly 300 km of signposted roads to discover the local fauna. Routes, Paeroa, Te Aroha and Matamata roads cross the park and join the hiking trails. Some paths follow the traces of the Maori who hunted in the region. The two most popular paths are the Waitewheta Track, where you can see waterfalls and gorges, or Te Aroha Domain climbing up to the peak of Mount Te Aroha (952 m).
