Like many of New Zealand's tourist spots, Rotorua has its own Top 10, mainly designed for families. The one in the city center has unfortunately closed, so you'll have to head a little outside the urban area to Blue Lake (Lake Tikitapu), not far from the Redwood forest or the buried village of Wairoa, two major attractions in the region. Tent/van/camping-car pitches or private apartments for 5 to 8 people.
