Roots Waffle Café is an excellent example of the best that Kiwi gastronomy can produce, drawing on the country's multi-culturalism. Run by a South African family with a passion for Brussels waffles, who have lived in New Zealand for a number of years, you'll find the best of three worlds on a menu that will make even the most insensitive gourmet salivate. The welcome is warm and attentive, and the sweet and savoury waffles are a feast for the eyes and taste buds. "Family-friendly", the restaurant even has a small children's corner.
