One of the region's hidden treasures! Nicknamed "the Hidden Valley", Orakei Korako ("the place with the decorations") lies along the Waikato River, which you have to cross to reach the site. Once there, you can discover the geothermal wonders that never cease to impress. Less crowded than some of Rotorua's other attractions, it's well worth the extra few kilometers.
