NZ TATTOO AND ART FESTIVAL

It's Australasia's biggest tattoo festival, and a testament to the importance of tattooing in New Zealand culture.
Tattooing has a special place in New Zealand culture; among the Māori it is an ancestral tradition and has a strong cultural significance. In particular, the moko , a facial tattoo, reflects a person's status.
No such significance among the Pākehā (non-Māori), but it has become part of customs here more than elsewhere. Few people in this country are without a tattoo! So it's only logical that it's home to Australasia's biggest tattoo festival.
