SHINING PEAK BREWING

This is one of Taranaki's rising microbreweries. The name, "Sommet Etincelant", comes from the translation of the region's name: "Tara", summit, and "naki", derived from "ngaki" meaning "shining", "sparkling" and referring to the dazzling character of Mount Taranaki when covered in snow. In the center of New Plymouth, we settle into a room with a green urban design (lots of plants on the walls and ceilings!). The beer is good, and what's more, we're drinking for a good cause: 5% of the proceeds are donated each month to a local charity.
