On the edges of the river is moored the Waimarie, a paddle boat built in 1899 and operated until 1952, when it sank at anchor. It was restored in 1993 and is still available for 2 hours cruises with comments on the Whanganui river. It is best to check the dates online because they change regularly according to the seasons.
