This New Zealand Great Walk is not on foot but in canoe. Descending the river Wanganui between Taumarunui and Pipiriki, it takes 5 days to carry out the crossing, which offers some nice rapids to give you strong sensations. The landscape in the heart of the forest is beautiful. A shorter 3-day version of Whakahoro. Several companies rent the necessary equipment and arrange transportation at the beginning and arrival.
