Formerly known as the Museum of City & Seas, it's one of Wellington's great free tours. The first room takes us straight back to the city's maritime past, when the building was still a bond house. The reconstruction is true to life, and you'll feel right at home! The rest of the museum presents the city's history, and tells its funniest and saddest anecdotes. Don't miss the attic floor, with its impressive models and the stuffed figure of "King Dick", once the zoo's famous lion.

Very welcoming staff in this museum of human scale over the sea but not only, the history of Wellington in photo, object, anecdotes... Why to deprive it is free!
Free museum, interesting for adults and children. The models of ships are impressive. A real paradise for lovers of the sea.
