Duck Island is one of Wellington's top three names for ice cream. It's open until late, because there's no time for good ice cream! And no season, either. Duck Island (or its neighboring competitors) serve ice cream at all hours and in all weathers to a crowd that couldn't care less about the traditional ice cream/summer/sun association. Here, ice cream is a bar food. Duck Island offers 24 flavors, including many lactose-free (and therefore vegan) options. You can also buy jars to take home.
