SIGN OF THE KIWI

Located on the outskirts of town, in a park with beautiful panoramic views, Sign of the Kiwi is a café-bar where it's good to take a break after exploring the surrounding area. Everything here is homemade and made on the premises, even the bread and yoghurt. Everything is delicious, but the place is particularly famous for its scones. Perfect to take away before tackling the short climb up to the viewpoint. If you're not satisfied, you can continue a little further into the park to the more upscale Sign of the Takahe, opposite the Cashmere Hill Lookout.
