Very severely damaged by the earthquake of 2011, it had already been weakened over the years by previous seismic whims. Built and finished in 1901, built in volcanic rock, it was the central point of this city. Its future is uncertain between the demolition project and the desire for conservation and memory memories, the inhabitants are still fighting 3 years after the fate to be given to this monument. At the moment you can see its facade destroyed behind large wire.

Bel édifice sévèrement endommagé
Un très bel édifice fermé au public mais visible de l’extérieur depuis la place. L’édifice est très sévèrement endommagé à cause du séisme de 2011 qui a détruit un bon nombre de bâtiments de la ville qui s’en reconstruit petit à petit.

La cathédrale est le symbole de l'ancien centre ville de christchurch avant le séisme de 2011. Coupé en deux elle symbolise la violence du séisme.

Un incontournable à voir à Christchurch, surtout depuis le séisme de 2011. Elle reste figée, à moitié debout, au milieu de la ville comme pour se souvenir
