Arthur's Pass National Park's only ski resort is located on the northwest side of the mountain, which provides good snow and sunshine. At 1,750 m (420 m vertical drop), Temple Basin is considered the home of extreme skiing and snowboarding in the country. Four lifts serve the 320 hectares. It is possible to stay in one of the two lodges on site. The resort opens from June to October, depending on weather conditions. Equipment can be rented on site (limited stocks).
