It is the third largest art gallery on the South Island. Established in 1956, it offers a permanent collection of nearly 900 varied works, to which are added temporary exhibitions renewed every month and whose program can be consulted online. It is a visit that has the merit of being free and allows an interesting outing in Timaru, where museums are not very numerous. The pieces come from New Zealand, but also from the rest of the world and cover several periods of history.
