This small museum, right next to the i-Site (same hours) in an original building, features a recreation of a mine and other artifacts telling the story of the mining industry that was so important to the area. Since June 2013, the volunteers and friendly staff of the Coaltown Museum explain all the engineering of the time to extract coal but also to transport it. After gold and coal, there is also a history of cement. Information on earthquakes and an interesting collection of minerals are present.
