It is not possible to carve your own stone here. However, the visit is worthwhile. This Ngai Tahu family store, run by Caroline, Mark and Rima, has been in existence for over twenty-five years. They will explain to you the history of this taonga (precious good) since the 12th century and the meaning of the shapes of the pendants between hook, twist, circle, spiral Kuru, Tiki, Patu, Manaia, Toki.
