Opened in 1995, this exciting center offers you the opportunity to learn more about the local wildlife and in particular about the brown kiwi. The National Kiwi Centre takes in two of them and raises them until they are 5 years old before releasing them into the North Island bush . The center has other surprises: turtles, tuataras, crayfish that you can fish for, but also hundred-year-old eels that can reach two meters long! Don't miss the meal of the latter at 10am, 12pm and 3pm! There is also a store.
