While the work of the new Otago Stadium is dragging on, the old Carrisbrook could serve as a fallback solution for the games scheduled for the World Cup. Released in 1870, Carrisbrook hosted its first international rugby match in 1908. The All Blacks used it regularly and their last appearance in the enclosure dates back to June 19, 2010 during the summer tour when they beat Wales (42-9).
Capacity. 29 000 places.
Residents. Otago Rugby Team and the Highlanders for Super 14.
Inauguration. 1870.
