More expensive than its neighbors, the Great Eastern Restaurant is nonetheless worth a visit for its kitschy, gilded setting and its wonderful dim sum prepared at lunchtime. This Cantonese restaurant used to have a reputation as one of the best Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. Unfortunately, it has lost some of its former quality. Don't expect fancy service; the waiters are pretty gruff. But don't take offense - it's part of the charm! For the record, President Obama once dined here.

Food was amazing compared to the Chinese food I’m used to in Santa Rosa. Especially the sweet and sour pork as it was not dry on the inside like some other places. The rest of the food was great too (Mongolian beef, cashew chicken, veggie chow mein, pork potstickers, and fried shrimp rolls) and so was the service. Restaurant atmosphere is nice and spacious, and not too loud or quiet. I went at 4:30 on a Saturday.

These people/business cannot accept Gluten-Free people. I asked them for no sauce on the food I ordered, but they said they cannot and order the Cashew Chicken! I didn't even had a good experience; I just did this for my family, when visiting. Y'all need to accept CHANGE and Gluten-Free people!!! [Until y'all can do this, I don't want to come back and 1 star]
(As for the owner, if you read this - I don't CARE about how popular this is - you and your staff should deal with "I don't want my food with sauce!")
