Hotel located at the convergence point between Union Square and Soma with urban decor and a warm interior and S&R lounge

Located at the convergence of Union Square and SoMa, where it's super fun to stroll, it plays the trendy, high-tech card to appeal to a younger clientele. What we like here is the mix of urban decor and warm interior. In the lobby, the S&R Lounge offers the opportunity to get to know each other over cocktails, billiards, video games or shuffleboard. Zetta is a great address for those looking for a trendy Californian experience. On-site: restaurant and bar.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and calmness of this hotel. Room, lobby, elevators all clean and nice. Room was huge with no smell (other reviews mentioned a smell which I was worried about). Only room complaint was that the fridge was barely cold and the safe didn't work but other than that it was clean and well stocked. Bed was comfortable. Lots of towels, coffee, in the room. I knocked off a star bc there was no valet parking or anyone outside to help direct you what to do which was confusing on the busy street. I left my bf with the car and the reception host said for us to unload our luggage and park at the 5th and Mission lot which was $45/overnight and not secured.

PARK ACROSS THE STREET. Me and my partner came for my 21st birthday, and the valet is a complete mess. I called beforehand to see what the best way to park is, Natalie told me to pull up out front and valet will take my car to the parking garage. Natalie was the only helpful person here. After waiting on the side of the road for over 45 minutes for valet to move the cars in front of the hotel (in the only spaces to park for valet), we were told to just park in front of the entrance to the garage, because it was taking so long. Keep in mind, the valet service was $50 a day, when the public parking next to the hotel was apparently $40 a day. The valet “service” also took about 30 minutes to return my car as I was checking out of the hotel. Along with a lack of amenities, and a huge waste of time and stress, I can say I wish I would’ve selected a different hotel. :(

I was really excited about staying at hotel Zetta. It has good reviews and is rated as a 4 star. I would personally call it a 3 star. It’s not that it wasn’t nice, but the details were just lacking. The rooms walls were scuffed, the shower caulk was dirty, the vents were caked in dust. I paid for an upgraded room with added beverages, and it honestly felt like a downgrade.

This used to be my go-to hotel when staying in SF especially when I would do a night with my now 19 year old. I don’t know what’s happened but this has been a truly disappointing experience starting when we arrived to drop the car and our bags before walking to lunch.

I parked out front and waited for the valet who didn’t come out. I inadvertently parked in the bike lane when we took our bags in and they wouldn’t move my car until I parked in the lane outside the valet parking signs.

The folks at the desk were not friendly and helpful and it was if we were burdening them with our arrival. The fact that I’d stayed here a half dozen times should have shown in my profile.

Our room has windows facing essentially a brick wall and the windows of another room. For the same rate in years past I’ve had actual views of the Sf streets. It doesn’t seem to be busy in the hotel so I would have expected they would have given us a nicer room if for nothing else than to engender good will and give Sf a better reputation.

We won’t be staying here again. I am very disappointed.
