Forgot a jacket there a few weeks ago. Reached out 2 days later. The cleaning crew did not return it to the service desk. Won’t tip any of them going forward anymore. Not trustworthy.

Within walking distance of Chinatown and Union Square, but streets are quiet at night. For a luxury hotel I was surprised that there were no amenities in the room, eg dental care, bedroom slippers, shaver. It should be standard provision without having to ask housekeeping for them.

Camere pulite e ben ordinate , colazione a pagamento a 35 dollari e 21 dollari x ragazzi fino a 12 anni ,nel contesto la colazione è più che soddisfacente

Spent three nights here for a work trip. I didn't get to explore much of the hotel, so can really only comment on the room and location. The room was a very nice size, with excellent bedding and views. The bathroom was a good size with nice amenities. I have found many hotels, including this one, are only providing the bare essentials in the room these days. For a hotel at this price point, I would have appreciated a shower cap and lotion in the room. Not a big deal, but it is noticed. Service at check-in and with the front door staff were great. Location is right on Union square. I didn't have an opportunity to explore or shop, but felt the location was excellent.

Mostly great. Most of the staff were extremely pleasant to interact with and daily service was great. If I had one complaint to pick, it would be the gentlemen outside... they seem more interested in chatting with each other than providing exceptional service. Multiple times my girlfriend said they ignored her unless I was by her side, which always hurts to hear.

The walls loudly creak whenever it’s windy outside — which is frequently in San Francisco! I called the front desk and they said this is totally normal for the building because it was built on rollers. I don’t know how anyone is expected to sleep or enjoy themselves like this!

Regularly come into the city to from the suburbs to visit friends, and departed from my go-to SF Hyatt, the Hyatt Regency SOMA, for the Grand Hyatt. Since I am only here sleeping, the review is almost entirely for the room.

Overall, it’s 7/10, but does not live up to the Grand Hyatt branding for two main reasons. First, the buildings age. It was constructed likely in the 70’s and is showing age no renovation would hide. Think lower ceilings, noisier AC, small, low bath tub, etc.

Second, the renovation they completed maybe 10-15 years ago is aging. Hyatt bed is comfy as always, and the TV is large with paring to your phone. Had a comfy lounge chair, but colors don’t match photos online 100%. Lack of attention to detail is what makes this hotel fall short of the Grand Hyatt branding. Only a single light in the bathroom, when it would be nice to have floor lightings for night use, and less harsh mirror lights. The curtain controls are bedside, but lamp switches are hard to use when they could’ve been on the same panel as the blinds. The rigid mesh-like secondary curtains are the weirdest I’ve ever seen.

Union square is really sad to walk through right now. Felt 100% safe, with tourist around, but is a ghost of what it once was. Many vacancies around the entire neighborhood. I hope it can return to how it was pre-COVID.

Overall, the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero (awesome architecture, waterfront, recently renovated) or Hyatt Regency SOMA, likely best Hyatt in the city, since it’s more recently renovated and closer to BART/MUNI, is a better choice unless you are set staying immediately on Union Square.

This is my second stay at the hotel, the first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't write a review. But now I'm convinced, this hotel does not deserve the Hyatt brand, let alone Grand Hyatt.

I travel for work and spent 100+ nights at Hyatts in the past year. I've never experienced a hotel that has worse soundproofing than this. It's beyond unacceptable, you literally hear everything from the room next to you. If you're the kind of person who likes to, you know, sleep at night, you shouldn't stay at this hotel.

The staff couldn't be bothered - when I inquired about changing my room, they shrugged and claimed they're fully booked for tonight. Well, the Hyatt app begs to differ and shows availability.

The club obviously has a great view and the club staff is great. But the globalist breakfast is worse than what you get at an average Hyatt Place.

Speaking of globalist perks - there is practically zero recognition. But hey, if you're really nice they might give you a bottle of water at reception. You want a second bottle? You better justify why you need it. Unbelievable that they ration the water.

And that's a theme - it feels like they're intentionally trying to make the experience feel "cheap". Bizarre for a GH.

Long story short, this hotel should be avoided.

Ohne Frage 5 Sterne!

My stay at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco Union Square was overall quite enjoyable. Upon arrival at around 1:30 pm, I was pleased to find that my room was ready for check-in. The reception staff was courteous and efficient, making the check-in process a breeze. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a particularly noteworthy feature being the electric blinds that could be easily closed with the push of a button. The bathroom was also well-maintained, and I appreciated the pleasant scent of the personal hygiene products provided.

However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks that detracted from an otherwise positive experience. Firstly, the motion-activated night light under the nightstand proved to be a bit disruptive during the night, as it would unexpectedly turn on when I shifted in bed, causing unwanted reflections that disturbed my sleep. Additionally, while the food at the hotel restaurant was delicious, I was disappointed to find that the TV in the room did not offer Netflix access, with the only option being to use Google Cast from my own device.

On the bright side, the location of the hotel is excellent, situated very close to Union Square and conveniently adjacent to the Apple store. There are plenty of dining options and attractions within walking distance, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.

Overall, I would recommend the Grand Hyatt San Francisco Union Square to others and would certainly consider staying here again in the future.

My first morning there, I get waken up around 8 AM by the house keeper knocking and then trying to get into my room. I tried yelling from the bed that no house keeping is needed, but she continued, so I had to get up and go towards the door.
It was frustrating as I had a late flight the night before and was trying to sleep before my conference.

I tried to fall asleep again, and guess what happened 30 minutes after? She came back and started knocking and opening the door again. I had to get up and go tell her to leave me alone again.

Some time later around 9:30 am I was in the shower and guess who came back knocking on my door again?

I get it that you are a "modern" hotel, but having the "Do not disturb" card available would have been very helpful. I always hang it out every time after I check in.
Having window blinds would also be helpful.

A beautiful hotel! We were in a bay view room and sunrise was absolutely breathtaking each morning. The night scapes with the skyline were unmatched, and we were so close to the Moscone for our conference. Bar staff was wonderful and the breakfast buffet was delightful.

Adjusted my stay, no charge.
Fixed a rattle in my room AC in minutes.
Great view, great Town Car, fast internet.
Bat restaurant is excellent. Bartenders are next level and the food was delicious. I'm glad we stayed in for dinner.

Great location. Really nice lobby with a fireplace. The bed is so comfy I didn't want to leave. Not great electric outlets near the bed. My charger kept falling out, so bring options. I would totally stay here again.
